Shift 2; Unleashed steering towards realistic racing glory

Producer Marcus Nilsson has not been shy at all about the claims for EA's sim market racer; Shift 2; Unleashed.  Going straight for the sim crowd that has been owned by the likes of Gran Turismo and Forza respectfully, Shift 2 hopes to make a big splash in the genre with a different, more immersive racing experience that the above mentioned games have yet to offer.
It looks to expand upon its' first installment Need for Speed; Shift which put gamers in the cockpit of their most fantasized vehicles jostling them around with each push of the throttle, slam on the brakes, and whip of every corner to replicate the inertia that is experienced by professional drivers of these beastly machines. Shift 2; Unleashed takes it further with an in the helmet cam that further intensifies the action on the racetrack and adds to the claustrophobia that is already been driven home. This view gives you an a level of immersion that has not been reached yet as the camera moves automatically to preview an upcoming corner or peer at a rival racer that is challenging you for your position.
With what is being referred to as a new physics engine that is "as sim as you can get," night racing, dirt tracks and the aforesaid features Shift 2; Unleashed might be speeding onto the list of racers to respect.
